Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for preserving Historical Look of the Building of Ukrainian Parliament
On Tuesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the exhibition "The 70th Anniversary of the Building of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine" organized by the Information Department of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate and the State Committee of Archives of Ukraine with the participation of the State V.H.Zabolotny Scientific Architectural-Construction Library, memorial museum of V.H.Zabolotny in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky and the National Reserve "Sofia Kyivska".
According to the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, exhibition "should induce certain People´s Deputies to suspend their attempts to eliminate the so-called "symbols of totalitarianism" in the architecture of the said building".
"I deem necessary to exert every effort to preserve the initial look of the building, so that it would correspond to the idea of V.Zabolotny and his willingness to see this building as such that inspires and stimulates for activity", - stated V.Lytvyn.
